Hwy 6 to Embro/401: Replacement of large culvert Aug-Nov

Expect delays but road will not be closed. Hwy 7 detour is suggested as above, if there is an overlap.

Hwy 8 between Stratford and Shakespeare: In progress

Beginning in early June, stretches of this road between the west end of Shakespeare and the east end of Stratford will be reduced on weekdays to a single lane, with flag people controlling traffic in both directions. Delays may be lengthy, so please allow additional time for your trip. (Both lanes are expected to be open on evenings and weekends.)

Dry Pastel Painting 101, An Introduction

Join pastel artist Denise Nonomura for an introduction to the soft pastel medium. Discover the unique quality and possibilities of using dry pigments as paint. This course will cover the many options of “soft/dry” pastels available, substrate options, application possibilities, storing, framing etc.

Also introduced will be how to identify values in colour, colour mixing, blending, layering, mark-making, and broken colour. A variety of substrates will be explored to learn how each substrate will affect the final outcome and look of the painting.

No previous soft pastel experience is required; however, some drawing or painting experience will be an asset to your learning experience.

NOTE: All materials are included. Each participant will take home a quality set of pastels at the end of the course as part of the fee.

This course is appropriate for adults and mature teens aged 16+.
